SUB-LET
Temporary Loft Living in Brooklyn. Every artist has got to do it at some point no?
Its funny, I sit in my lofted-make-shift-cubical and read World Of Interiors.
More 'Recent Bedrooms work,' I guess.
Peace Out
Gonna miss the UO workshop I've been working in for the past 8 months here in the city, But it's on to the next one. I'll be spending the next 3 months merchandising and styling the furniture and lighting department at ABC Carpet & Home. Though I wont be "making" anything, I'm excited to entertain other aspects of my obsession with homes through interior styling and working with designer and antique furniture.

Olve Sande
On the Inclination Towards Restrained Affinity and the Transubstantiation of Love
Sande's work is a plaster cast based on a fictional backside of a work from Frank Stellas Notched V-Series.

More sketches.
These are a few collage sketches I made starting about a year ago, they were initial experiments in style and process for some larger work I've been at lately. They've been lying around my bedroom for quite some time now, so I figured Id share them.

Norwegian Puppet Show Set - Process Photos
Here are some process photos of a set I built for a Norwegian Art/Puppet Show. It was inspired by traditional Norwegian Stabbur design, although due to working with such a small budget, I had to simplify the design from our initial inspiration photo. For the most part, I built this entire structure myself in about 36 hours total build time, occasionally getting help from one of the artist's brother to make some cuts. The internal framework is pretty standard for how you would build a shed or barn.
We were actually invited to rebuild the structure at Viking Fest taking place in Brooklyn next Saturday, so hopefully that all works out.
The structure pushed the limits of the gallery at being just shy of 12ft tall and the top floor being around 10ftX10ft wide.

Let's Voyage into the New American House
Let's Voyage into the New American House
Richard Brautigan
There are doors
that want to be free
from their hinges to
fly with perfect clouds.
There are windows
that want to be
released from their
frames to run with
the deer through
back country meadows.
There are walls
that want to prowl
with the mountains
through the early
morning dusk.
There are floors
that want to digest
their furniture into
flowers and trees.
There are roofs
that want to travel
gracefully with
the stars through
circles of darkness.

Apartment Therapy Design Evenings: Mira Nakashima of Nakashima Studios
Wednesday, April 6: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
ABC Carpet & Home
888 Broadway NYC
After recently reading George Nakashima's "The Soul of a Tree," I'm so excited to be able to attend this presentation from his daughter and now Creative Director of Nakashima Studios, Mira Nakashima. Reading his words has altered my entire perspective on how I approach my craft. Even attempting to understand the peace Nakashima found in his work truely is a life pursuit.
"A tree is perhaps our most intimate contact with nature — each tree, each part of a tree, has its own particular destiny, its own special yearning to be fulfilled."
