If you like, brown skinned women, dread-locks, magic, James Brown Dancin', Bow Ties, THE COOLEST OXFORDS YOU HAVE EVER SEEN IN YO GODDAMN LIFE, Pea Coats, Big Boi in a Pea Coat, The "hey-ya" look-a-like band, ray bans, Insane Asylums, Pop and Lockin, being told to Shut Up, DEMENTOURS, dance circles, walking through walls, and Small Bed rooms with nothing but a phonograph and a typewriter, then THIS IS YOUR SHIT.
Janelle Monae never looked so damn fine.

Mighty Healthy X New Era - FISHERMAN
Mighty Healthy continues to prove themselves as the most progressive Street-wear brand. Bold statement, I know. But really, Mighty Healthy is the only street-wear brand I feel directly connected to in terms of it being appropriate to my personal style. Mighty Healthy is proud but honest, distinct but never flashy, modern and hood and completely All-American.
Though the design additions to this cap may be small, the weight of the canvas and fisherman pockets completely transforms your typical flat-bill into a seasonably wearable and relevant head piece. OK, maybe I'm playing favorites, but either way this shit is dope!

A BATHING APE X REGAL
Bape and Regal bring one of my favorite collaborations this season. Sure there's not much different in terms of construction to the desert boots, but how hood is it to have the Bape head logo on the heal??

DULUTH Scout Pack - Back Pack
Those of you who know me can attest, I'm something of a bag lady. I'm usually rollin deep with a laptop, magazine(s) and a sweater i wont be needing. Where as most of my bags are a bit too bulky and only serve me well when its time to do laundry, The Duluth Scout Pack is the perfect sized Day Pack to serve fully functional for my urban gear (And its completely bike friendly.) Not only is this gem practical as hell, But its waxed canvas construction and leather reinforcements make it completely relevant to Americana/work-wear styles.
Named after Duluth, Minnesota, The Duluth Pack is a brand with proud heritage. For over a hundred years the Duluth Pack has been portaged across lakes on wilderness canoe trips and have changed little in their design since their introduction in 1882. Did I mention its guaranteed for life? And for 85 bucks its more than a bargain for American made durability and sheer good looks. This is my favorite purchase so far this year.

Nom de Guerre - Camo Jacket
Lately I havnt been so sure about the recent rise of the camo print, But this has to be one of my favorite examples of how to do it right. Im really digging the subtlety of this shirt style jacket, the weight also makes it a perfect transitional piece for spring. God knows ive been rocking my vintage army shirt just about everyday these past few months, so this jacket feels right at home in my closet- or should I say bedroom floor.

BAMBOO MAGIC
I first saw this video at Afrigadget, a website dedicated to African ingenuity. Usually I turn to Afrigadget for art inspiration when working with repurposed materials, although after seeing this post I couldn't help but be inspired as a man of style. Lekuama Ketuafor, a teacher from the southwest region of Cameroon, saw potential within his immediate surroundings. Lekuama took bamboo, an over looked, low cost, renewable resource, and turned it into a beautiful and labor intensive craft. Its amazing what someone can do with a set of simple hand tools, glue, varnish and endless creativity. In addition to heading his own one-man cottage industry, Lekuama is looking damn good doing it, head to toe in his own designs of Bamboo Magic wear.

How To Make It In America: The Mixtape
I'm sure we all by now have heard of the new HBO series How To Make It In America,(the one with Kid Cudi) but if you havn't already, you should atleast go download the How To Make It In America Mixtape:
(Just click the "mixtape" tab) http://facebook.com/howtomakeit
Also if you havnt got HBO, The theme song for the show, "I Need a Dollar" by Aloe Blacc is also worth downloading. Its a single from Aloe Blacc's forth coming album Good Things, produced by Truth & Soul. Blacc started out as MC for indie hip-hop group Emanon in the 90's but has been independent for sometime now. His powerful voice and jazzy R&B style has earned him the nick name "The Indie R. Kelly", but as far as Ive heard, he prefers girls his own age...

Red Wing
Yesterday I mentioned Red Wing Boots as my next buy, so I thought I'd share with you a little insight into the iconic nature of Red Wing as an All-American Work Boot. For over a hundred years they have been trusted as the boot of choice for most American labor workers, (I know my Grandfather has an old pair I'd love to steal if his foot wasn't so small.) If you're a working man, you are sure to appreciate the quality and durability of pair of red wings. As a Display Coordinator, i often feel like a construction worker, so for me, a good pair of boots is pretty essential. Im kinda losing my mind these days as my pair of vintage Justin boots are completely worn out at this point.
Recently Complex.com's Cut & Show series took a tour of the Red Wing Factory in Minnesota, you can check out that video at their site here. The video is a little dry but worth checking out if you're well rested and want a lil' history lesson. Either way, As work wear styles continue to inspire designers this year, Red Wing is an appropriate boot for those who grind hard on their feet, and want to look good doing it.
J Crew has a few styles worth checking out or you can always buy direct.

Adidas x Star Wars Part II
This Saturday Part II of Adidas x Star Wars collection, the Vehicle Pack, takes off over at End Clothing. This time, 5 classic Adidas styles have been remixed based off Star Wars vehicles like the X-Wing and even the Millennium Falcon. Personally, I'm all about the AT-AT although my leather shoe fetish has a pair of Red Wing boots next on my splurge list. But for all you Sneaker Heads, this shit is limited quantity, so be prepared to spend some euros.

Efterklang - Modern Drift
Modern Drift by Efterklang from Rumraket on Vimeo.
Modern Drift is the opening song on Efterklang third studio album, Magic Chairs, which dropped back in February. In the fine tradition of Efterklang videos, this visual gem carries its own weight versus an already beautifully epic track. Made by Kristian Leth from The William Blakes (www.speedofsound.dk), the imagery was apparently inspired by "Dyrehaven, den Romantiske Skov", a film from 1970 by the acclaimed artists Per Kirkeby and Jørgen Leth (Kristian’s father).

"Stayin Fly"
These Denim Trousers are one of the latest additions to designer Stephan Schneider's Spring line over at Opening Ceramony. While I'm completely digging the look and boxy construction of these pants, I'm a little thrown off by the lack of a zipper.. I'm thinking i could thrift some mom jeans that might give me a similar look without the urinal delay.

Drake: OVER
Finally a track to replace Kid Cudi's Pursuit of happiness as my 2010 anthem. (currently)
Just when it seemed that this album was never gonna drop and the hype had faded, Drake hits us up with his first single off "Thank me later." Only after about 6 listens I'm starting to go hoarse from all the "Yuhs" and "Ayes." Here's a feel good one for the down and out.
